Last year, we kicked off our internal competition, the Burger Love Creativity Challenge, where our teams got to show off their creativity by crafting a new and original burger recipe. This special burger was available at all Holy Cow! locations for two months.
For the second edition, we decided to step up our game with an extra challenge (we admit, we felt a bit like we were on Top Chef): create a burger that showcases the famous Swiss cheese – Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP, beloved by fondue fans.
After a thorough tasting in Fribourg by a tough jury, including four members from the Interprofession du Vacherin Fribourgeois, the team from Sion took home first place. Their bold creation was closely followed by the Geneva Plainpalais team, last year’s champions who impressed us with their famous Colonel Moutarde.
The Valais team set a clear and ambitious goal: craft a burger that would win over everyone – from the most discerning palates to everyday burger lovers. They nailed it with a recipe that satisfied all tastes.
Introducing: the Röstigraben. Featuring homemade garlic aioli sauce, a crispy rösti patty, two slices of melted Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP, and a 100% Swiss beef patty, this burger is a delicious tribute to Swiss culinary diversity.
This new promotional burger transcends cultural and linguistic boundaries, uniting burger lovers across the country and celebrating our beloved Switzerland. The Röstigraben isn’t just a burger; it’s a symbol of unity and a reminder that, despite our differences, we all share a love for great food.
